Hiking Database
Explore the growing Global Summit Guide trail index. Search by trail or region, open a research record, and move directly into a full GSG guide when one is available.
One Trail Index. Many Ways to Plan.
The Hiking Database is the research layer beneath Global Summit Guide’s hiking system. A trail can exist here before it receives a full standalone guide. That lets GSG organize trails consistently by region, route type, season, access, difficulty and mountain relationships without creating thin pages simply to fill the index.
As research is verified, additional filters will activate for distance, elevation gain, high point, best months, permits, trail class, terrain and features. Related Peak Database IDs and external mapping resources can also be attached without changing the trail’s permanent GSG ID.
Each record uses a stable GSG-T#### identifier independent of its page URL.
Guide and database are separateA database record does not automatically require its own indexable WordPress article.
Research before precisionUnverified distance, elevation, permit and seasonal fields display as Research pending instead of guessed values.
Built for expansionThe same interface is designed to accept the complete 500-record dataset as research is finished.
